I was given my first Mel’s Bracelet when I was having chemo for breast cancer in 2010. Someone at the hospital gave me the bracelet and told me Mel’s story. I wish I had known Mel.  What a remarkable woman. The bracelet symbolized hope for me. Then I received another bracelet from my friend’s then 8 year old son, with a beautifully written note. That was and is so special to me and Mel’s bracelet is indeed a symbol of hope, as I am now a 4 1/2 year survivor.
